VHF CB Radio/Freenet in the UK?

Naeive nooooooooooooo, entheusiastic yes I like that lol.

Im all for the radio hobby no matter what it is, to me VHF makes perfect sense, smaller antennas, less interference through the day etc, Im not going to argue with anyone about what is best and whats not, even the 446 would be great expanded and say 4watts I would just love a good allocation that I could use over distance without all that horrible noise we seem to get these days on 11metres FM, even last night no matter which frequency we picked it was horrible its got to be all this new stuff thats come out, maybe 4g or something I dont really know but it spans over 6 miles in our area when Im trying to chat to local friends and it never used to be like that at night.

Last night I was on the VHF amateur band for an hour chatting to a good friend of mine, it was great nice and clear then went back onto the cb band to chat to the guys on their and again horrible. I would say it died down at about 3am its weird.

Ive always been interested in radio anything from commercial radio broadcasts listening to Radio Luxembourg as a child then onto cb and amateur radio, I thought anyone that loves the radio hobby would be interested in it all TBH, its radio full stop.

So does anybody know when an announcement about what is happening with the VHF Spectrum thats up for grabs that we have shown interest of a VHF CB system allocation?

Im sure on the Ofcom site it said a decision would be made near the end of the year but Ill check that

143 MHz to 169 MHz???? surly it should be 146 MHz to 169 MHz? because 144 MHz to 146 MHz is the 2 meter band. Does this mean our 2 meter band will be affected?

either way you look at it, vhf cb is bad news for 2 meters,, there will be even More of radios like the UV5R that will just get more idiots jamming the 2m repeaters... like its not bad enough..
anyway Why would we want vhf CB ?.. cant see the point myself..
