First post in this section! :-)

I have been listening to Lincs FM 102.2 from the North East of England for the past 30mins, just died off now, so seems to be a lift on the band :-)

Skeggy Radio.

Back in the day, when the exotic FM stations started floating in from Europe on the commercial bands then it was time to dash for the 2m set.

been very interesting to tune around that band late at night and be able to pick out the weak signals. Only issue is that after midnight, most BBC Local stations go to R5 Live programming, so ascertaining what they are can be difficult.

I have Lincs FM and a Norfolk station on an old Sony receiver's preset. I think BBC Leeds, York and Radio Aire (Leeds) as well as Sheffield's Hallam FM were all on there too.

I'm also in the northeast, like Craig, but not as close to the coast. Living on a hilltop would yield spectacular results with she slightest of "lifts". I always wished I'd purchased a proper directional antenna for FM broadcast.

Reminds me, time I bought an updated copy of WRTH 8)

Just for interest for the odd person who may not know.

Lincs FM on 102.2 comes off of Belmont with a likely antenna height of between 1200ft and 1500ft asl and a fairly clear shot into north east England. According to this - http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1602048 - the tx power is 3.6kw on mixed polarisation.

I can remember back in the day before we got a galaxy in the northeast I could get galaxy yorkshire on my hifi in stockton on 105.8

It was brilliant, back when alex pepper was on in the evenings with his euro dance mixes, it was miles ahead of any station round here until we got a galaxy northeast and it all went wrong ;o(

Here in Teesside I can hear Lincs FM 24/7 using a 5 element FM antenna on a 4m pole in the back garden. I can sometimes get it with RDS.
