Hello Firecrest55, i think people know about Gainsborough Shopwatch Scheme buddy! I have even left a comment of that website.

Ive found out the correct frequencies and ctcss tones for gainsborough shop and pub watch. If anyone wants them. Note: it has been scrambled.

So what was it then?

RX: 456.693750
TX: 462.193750
CTCSS: 179.9

But its still scrambled Also i now own an Icom IC-F44GS but i don't know how to program it lol

lol ill try but im having no luck with it so far i have the software and lead but not the brains to work it out!

start up your program and make sure your radio is connected to your pc and the program lead is plugged in.
click the model tab at the top of the screen and choose the second one down (pmr), i'm not going to tell you how to program dtmf codes cos they could be anything.

click the + next to Memory CH.
you will see 2 boxes greyed out, bank operation and one marked 1, for simple programming you dont need to touch the one called bank operation, so we'll go to 1.

click the grey box 1, now on the right side of your screeen you will see the settings boxes.
start at 1- 1 in double click the rx box and put the frequency you want to listen to, in the tx box put the frquency

you want to transmit, if its a simplex channel (receives and transmits on the same channel, then just double click the arrow in the tx box) if its duplex (receive on one channel and transmits on another, you need to enter the transmit frequency in the tx box)

double click the box that shows a W, this is under the setting W/N, you can change your audio setting to wide (W) or Narrow (N), choose narrow for pmr frequencies.

next is the C tone, or commonly known as ctcss, if you know the ctcss tones enter them in the rx and tx box, if you dont know them you may have to track them down using a scanner that is capable of displaying ctcss, if your using the radios for your own use then you can enter any ctcss code you want, just make sure all your radios are set to this code. you dont need to have any ctcss codes in the radio, that will mean if someone else is using the channel you will hear them as well.

the text box is so you can name a channel,

compander is like a mic boost, you can double click the empty box under compander and choose ON

RF pwr should be set to H

PWR save, on

Ignore lockout

go right to the end on the right and under scrambler click on, code and type should be set to Inv, scrambler code is for when you have an optional scrambler board installed in the radio.

now start agn for 1- 2 and enter your info in the boxes, once you reach 1- 16 you can then click 2. on the left side of the window to input your channels in the second bank.

come down to Common (left side of screen) and click the + choose key & display
all you are interested in is the section called conventional.

Each key type can be changed, eg: if you want the emergency key to turn off your scrambler then double click the box next to the emergency name, a menu will open, scroll down it untill you see scrambler, choose this, and now your emergency key will turn the scrambler on and off.

you can change the other keys to do other functions from the drop down menu.

once you have completed all your frequencies you can then save the settings, click the floppy disk icon and choose a name for the code plug you have made, then click save.

you can now program the radio by either clicking the clone tab at the top and choosing Write ->TR or by clicking the radio icon at the top, the 5th one from the left next to the picture of a computer.

your radio should now be programmed.

Can anyone answer what is the standard UHF radio frequency seperation. Im hearing diffiring things be it 5000/6000 or 6,500 anyone know what it would be.

for example im listening to my local liverpool shopwatch on 456.950 what is the seperation.
