I remember the pre-amp on mine being pretty good . I used to run it from a car battery in my room , so it would only last about 10mins before dying . PS I couldn't afford a 40A PSU back in the mid 80s :)

Yeah . I remember buying it from a big CB radio mail order shop in Portsmouth I think . Can't remember the name of it now but it used to advertise in CB Radio magazine . Anyway I sent the postal order (£120) on the Thursday afternoon and got the amp on the Saturday morning . Funny how we remember silly things like that .

Yeah it's gas. We can't remember real important stuff but can remember things like that. My parents got me a Sadelta Echo Master Plus for christmas '89 and it came with the plug not fitted. Spent most of Christmas day trying to fit the plug lol. Got it in the end even if it was pidgoen sh1t soldering it worked. Had it on my Madison. God I loved that rig, but alas I sold it to finance me first motorbike. An RD 350 LC. I would not mind having both of them back, what ever about the Madison, Elsie's are making big money this weather.

They were probably still called Telecomms back then.
my friend grafter, seems like you are using a very offensive tone in the reply.

Now that I'm thinking , maybe it was Truck King . For some reason Portsmouth popped into my head when I wrote this post , but I might have been wrong . It was definitely £120 though :)
