I am in the market for a new scanner and going digital. I think I've narrowed it down to these two but would like some advice on which ones the better one and why.

I can't answer for the TRX2. However, a couple of years ago I bought a DV1, and it does make life a litter easer as the DV1 does most things for you, When it finds the channel it and if it's set to Auto it will work out the correct colour code and most of the other info for you like DMR, Yeasu, Icom D-Star etc etc. So for me, I would recommend the DV1
If the problen cant be sorted with a "LUMP-HAMMER" then its most likely to be an Electrical fault
