totally agree neil-c

the prices on ebay are over the top! i had been trying to get one on there for months but they went for £100+.
Crazy money i thought. so just by chance i came across one for sale elsewhere for little money so snapped it up.

ive had it now for 2 days and im pretty pleased with it. it took ages to clean up and one of the front feet was missing but soon had it fixed.

the "auto store" is great, i can select where i want it to search and leave it running while im at work then when i get back the new frequencies are saved and ready for me to store or delete.

not bad for a stater scanner for myself and it seems to have decent web reviews..

The auto store does come in useful, fortunately unlike its predecessor the pro2035 it does check for already stored frequencies. The pro2035 did not which made it about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike. It would store any freq it picked up into a spare channel so you could end up with multiple channels of all the same freqs lol.

If you want an inexpensive good all round scanner look at the Realistic 2006.
No frills bog standard radio that is reliable and wont let you down.
Go for reasonable money too on e bay.
Just some advice is all.

thanks for the replys guys

i did originally bid on many 2006's on ebay but they went for crazy money so just by luck (and impatience) i came across the 2042for sale at very little money so i thought "why not" and snapped it up. ive been running it now for a month or so and managed to get a skyscan mobile antenna up into my loft and its going great. pulling in lots of signals that didnt exist for me before.

defo got the scanning bug now as more and more local signals pop up and loads on airband which i didnt bother with before on my uniden handheld.
