446 is abused just like CB and amateur radio, not many folk I know use 'legal to use on' equipment and afaik Ofcom don't do squat about policing or enforcing the rules regarding, how could they anyway seeing as it's mostly mobile / handhelds.

Around here its all high powered Chinese sets or wide-banded Amateur radios
The cat is out of the bag now and as-long as they don't impact on paying spectrum users nothing will be done...

Back on topic, I have heard that the Retevis radios are the radios of choice in most ares, as settings files are easily shared between users over forums or facebook groups.
