Cobra 146GTL and 140GTL the difference?
Recently got a 140GTL and it works ace just like my 146GTL, but is there any difference inside, i may of read once ages ago that the chip the 140 used was too easily modified for extra channels so they were short lived, but can’t remember so probably totally wrong, can anyone shed any light on the 140?

Re: Cobra 146GTL and 140GTL the difference?
A quick look on cbtricks shows that the 140 uses the MB8719 , which is a lot more "flexible" than the "uPD2824" that the 146GTL uses .
Saying that , I have a Maurer module in my 146 which makes it 120ch . The main problem for me is that the 146 front panel is soldered onto a pcb , which makes switch access and reallocation difficult . I don't know how the 140 is put together .

The 140 is a better radio, Same or very similar inside to the AM/SSB Stalker 9, If it has the MB8719 and 11.3258 crystal it can have a pair of 4008s added for 80 channel and +10kc
