CB Museum

Post by iBiker »

Hello folks

Last week I was on holiday in Spain and came across a CB Museum, yes you read correctly!!!!

It is located in the town of San Roque, on the southern coast directly behind Gibraltar. The museum is located on one side of the town plaza/park, beside the theatre.

It is run by a gentleman called Jose Maria, and houses more than 3000 exhibits! Radios, Mics, Amps and memorabilia, well worth a visit for the enthusiast. There is also a lot of information on the history of CB generally and particular to that area. The premises are provided by the local council, and they do work with schools etc., on educating how CB brought radio to the masses, and the technology developments that brought us to todays smartphones etc.

There are great collections of President, Stalker, Cobra, Browning, Golden Eagle and pretty much everything you can think of, its just bonkers the amount of stuff in there!

It is open every Friday evening between 7pm and 9pm and on weeknights by appointment. There are antennas and a live station. Jose is also a radio ham and they have HF equipment, so you can operate either.

So next time you are on the Costa del Sol, might be worth a visit.
