Colt Excalibur SSB with ptbm059cox Rogerbeep

Post by bernado »

Hello, I have a question!
How to disable the Roger Beep on the device?
It is always switched on!
Maybe a capacitor remove as with the Hy Gain?

best Regards

The 059 board doesn't have a bleep, it must be an addon board. It will usually be one with, or connected to, a small relay and removing the 9v feed from it should disable it. Best I can do without pics.

Yes lots of people on here know how to do it

Don't mean to be funny have a bit of respect for all the helpers on here.they don't just sit on the forum waiting to serve you.

Strange you can't even wait half a day for some one to reply before you got impatient......and yet you don't reply to Nick and mich and yet more time has passed .

Let's get back on track

As Nick says they normally a 121 board

Please post 2 good pictures on the inside all the radio not just the board
One component side
One solder side

From this we can tell exactly what board and or sub board and help you further

The PTZZ053AOX is the bleep board, same as Formac 120 with two small relays, so you could take out a cap or remove the 9v (BAS) feed. I've got the same board in my Concorde Mk1 for the CW but it's wired differently and I haven't found a circuit diagram yet.

I've just found a Formac diagram and it's Pin 5 on the 053 board, looks like TX volts (BT) rather than 9v so I'm a bit rusty, it's been a while. Disconnect Pin 5 and it should stop the beep and delay but still RX/TX properly. Or put it on a switch.
