Nice one Dave, I saw that on there and thought it was a good buy but refrained from hitting the BIN, well done though looks a cracker
Well I don't buy a lot now and wanted a nice RVC220.
I bought a boxed one of E-bay maybe six years ago and whilst it looked OK, somebody had fitted a weird set of Midnight channels activated with a relay and all the tuning cores were shot, somebody had twisted them through the PCB......it turned out to be a [email protected] good to Man or Beast.

Picked up this very tidy five band Jackson late last night for a bargain price. Original mic and bracket included. That's two of these I've picked up recently for a good price.

I made an offer on that one of £75 and the seller decined it. So you did well there, Lol

Nice radios, to be absolutely perfect they needed to shove the buttons over a bit and make room for a meter like this, then it would be one of the best 11m export radios ever.

I made a first offer of £70, to which the seller responded with a counter offer of £78. I countered with my original offer of £70, to which he countered £75. Cheekily I countered with £71 and he countered with the £73 I bought it for. So why they didn't accept your offer of £75 is beyond me as none of my offers were that high. Even after that, their original BIN price was more than reasonable at £85.

Maybe it's because it was late Friday night and they needed beer money...

He did counter with £78 and a note saying something about the ebay fees, so I said sod it and declined the counter offer as i didn't want it too badly.

Considering the listing had only just started I am surprised he just didn't hang out for a bit longer in the hope of getting the full price.

I have purchased three ⅛ wavelength BNC antennae for my walkie talkies. I can't wait to use them up on the mountains in New Hampshire for DXing.

First of two radio's to arrive today. The £73 Jackson I mentioned earlier in the thread. It's an older five band version with the serial number sticker on the back and no external signal meter socket. AGC mod appears to have been done. No silly eprom. RX is outstanding, TX audio gets glowing reports on the supplied stock President mic. I'm truly impressed with this radio. :D

Second radio to arrive today. This rather nice Lincoln 1. Boxed (matching serial numbers), original mic, bracket (£40 right there), thumbscrews and power chord. It even has both poly inserts. Radio works spot on. All in all not bad for £130.

Nice radio you have there.
Got one on its way to me just now although not in as good condition and needs some work done. Didn't cost me much though so worth the punt.

Enjoy!

You are forgetting the poly inserts Sammy. £20 only gets you the cardboard. That makes it almost a freebie! :)

Behave gents

But yes, with the price people are charging on eBay these days (and often getting) you're not far off the mark. The thumbscrews for the Lincoln/2830 etc are actually much shorter than the regular thumbscrews for the 148/360/Jackson/Grant etc. Done in order to compensate for the different chassis. The number of gnarled Lincoln PCB's I've seen due to people having tightened full length thumbscrews in to the hilt has to be into decent double figures. Happily this Lincoln came with the correct ones and isn't, as seems to be becoming commonplace, a mishmash of a rig from here, a box from there, a mic from a bearded McDonald's lover...
