Which is best yeasu / kenwood / radio shack S/W radio ???
any thoughs as to which would be best to buy =YAESU FRG100 / KENWOOD R 1000 / RADIO SHACK DX-394 , I have the radio shack DX-394 would either of the other radios be any better or what other radios would you think as good if not better within the £100 price range ???

The RX on your 706 will be better than any of the receivers you quoted.

I know this Admiral i am looking to buy a radio for a long time friend who keeps saying he gets bored so i thought i would buy him a radio giving him a hobby . So back to the question i asked any thoughts anyone ???

Well, of those quoted Mr George the Yaesu every time, more decimal digits, 500% better radio than the others, but don't be thinking it's in the £100 range, nearer to £250 for a clean one. As mentioned above, if you can get a Tescun (and other names) PL660 for about £50 then it won't look as fancy as the Trio/Kenwood or Realistic on the desk, but will work a lot better than them.
