Sepura SRH + ROIP
greetings!
so im looking to connect my Tetra terminals to ROIP.... now being on a budget at the moment i have 2 x SRH 3500 Radios both on UO band....but no base station or signalink! how ever back last year i had a com port keyer made for me for my baofengs ... what im asking is this possible with a sepura...by using the audio connector on the side of the radio and to act as a gateway for FRN only as a temp measure until i can source a UO band base station....
any suggestions?

Re: Sepura SRH + ROIP
I have NEVER seen a U0 band Sepura mobile radio. I have no doubt that they are out there, but I have never seen one.
You may be forced to stick with handhelds only, or sell them and get the usual TZ / TW band kit.
Alternatively, you could go the same route as the emergency services:

Thats not a bad bit of kit. Very rare. Never seen one of those in the UK. Its a shame my STP8000 doesn't cover U0 band otherwise I'd start converting to U0.morgan306 wrote:If you're still looking for a link terminal...

Out of curiosity what advantage would you consider on the U0 band? I am going to invest soon!TRON wrote:Thats not a bad bit of kit. Very rare. Never seen one of those in the UK. U0 band is 440-470 MHz. This encompasses PMR446 band.

Well and truely highjacked this thread, but I spotted this too. Hytera bought the CM9000 mould maybe? (Don't rush and buy one though, it's 800MHz band).

Yes, that is 100% Cleartone CM9000. I wonder if it will "do" DMO repeat?

Yep! Now we can all have a DMO repeater on DMO TG1 sat on our desks doing the same thing as our MTH800's.... Collecting dust.

Re: Sepura SRH + ROIP
The info I found says it has repeat and gateway functions, albeit in broken English. However 800 MHz isn't any good to us, and they don't provide other bands. Not that the wanna be medics and dress up firemen care where they are operating.

My gear is far from collecting dust, but I do agree there isn't much of a tetra community.

Re: Sepura SRH + ROIP
The last I heard from you, your CM9000 was acting as a peltier heat pump, transferring heat from the generation end of the national grid to your desktop.morgan306 wrote:isn't much of a tetra community.
I offered some advice but there was no reply. I wrote the issue off as "more time wasted".
Is it just you on tetra or are there a few of you?

Re: Sepura SRH + ROIP
I don't think that was me, if it was I must of forgot I'd posted, wouldn't be the first time!
My MTM did get hot when I first connected it to the Signalink, that was due to my own incompetence though, using the wrong audio pin.
Same situation as you I suspect, it's pretty dead. With the occasional 13 year old popping up on Zello Only a couple of us using tetra down here. I'm connected to the Mad4Radio teamspeak server, which gets quite busy, but no tetra users. I've just got my first DMR handheld, I like it, but the audio is laughable in comparison.
