What area is it talking place in,

Raynet West/South Yorkshire users cross band

St John using there user there only channels, you just need to scan around on the day.

Our group users UK Gen, PMR 446, St John channels, ryanet channels, VHF, UHF and sometime HF. some group's now use Packet. Become a member of your local group and you will get to know the channels they use.

Hi

If you go onto the Raynet website and look into the news section it will tell you what frequencies are in use. Just had a quick look but cant find the Nidderdale Walk but not sure what date to look for so please advise. Lots of other events listed.

Raynet are very good at these things.

Nothing listed on the website for the Nidderdale Group or other groups although plenty of other events with frequencies shown. Suggest you check closer to the date.

Not much scanning needed.

Look at the bandplan and search out 'emergency comms'. IIRC 2m is around 144.625 - 144.800.

If you have a word at the start on the day you will be able to get the emrgency comms frequency, it would be silly if you are a licenced operator for you not to know on what frequecy you could radio for assistance if needed.

Please not our Raynet group dose not work on the RAYNET channels, we have just pick channels in the radios and use them.

we use Point to pint and repeater on UHF/VHF and we can work cross band too

We also use PMR/DPMR 446 and UK gen now too
