And Albrecht etc.
This is not a review, just some initial thoughts on this device.
Cons.
Audio is poor, speaker could do with being in the top lid.
err, that's it
Pros
Cheap, Moonraker.eu of MK are selling at £69.96
Compact
All accessories provided, home AC unit, mobile fag lighter 12v unit, and open ended 12v lead, telescopic antenna and a window mounted wire antenna with co-ax and BNC connector and mounting bracket with thumb screws.
Very simple to use
Close Call
It is marketed as a homebase unit, but realistically it ain't. For me the appeal is the simple use which makes it an ideal mobile set.
Analogue scanning is on its arse, so RF-snagging is a must in the dying embers of the hobby, Close-call for less than 70 quid cannot be ignored.

Literally everything here in London is digital now, and close call doesn't pick up and TDMA signals. So if you live in London like me, its a bit pointless having close call.

Not being able to program the 355CLT memory channels for civil airband is a downside.

Not being made of solid gold is a downside too, but it's 70 quid. It's designed to be primarily factory pre-programmed, that's the appeal for mobile use.
It is what it is, a very cheap set with CloseCall with a small footprint.

Well I think it's an upside actually! If it was made of solid gold you'd be sure to get robbed anytime you took it out of your home! Plus it would cost a hell of a lot more, and solid gold is not that hard either so it would probably bend if you held it too tight.
