Lincoln 2 Engineering Mode!

Post by delboyonline »

I've found the engineering menu on the Lincoln 2 -

Loads of different things that can be changed. Seems to work similar to the hidden menu on the Anytones!

The photo shows what appears to be an adjustment for the FM frequency (There are adjustments for SSB also)

How do you get it in to that mode.

Hopefully it can be used to sort out the L2's little quirks.

It should have been correct from the factory though...

I welcome your ideas of what each menu item does.....!

I would imaging they change the display frequency to match the actual frequency, as well as many other settings. Much like the menu on the Strykers in factory mode. Just note down what the settings are at before you change anything then you can always put it back to how it was.

I wondered how long before somebody else found it.

I came across this over a week ago (in fact when I posted the first 10 meter test videos).
I decided NOT to post any videos about it, nothing to do with any links to manifacturer at all.
I decided it was a double edged sword. :ugeek:
Firstly I agree it's nice to know there is items included for set up and future upgrades :D
But there are too many screw driver (or now hidden menu  ) experts out there with no ability or test gear to back their fiddling up.
I didn't want to be the one who caused a sudden influx of f@@ked up radios been returned to Dealers or the manifacturer for "Fettling".

Well it was bound to come out at some point.

I haven't posted what you need to do to get into the hidden menu (YET!), a bit more testing need to be done then i might be persuaded!

Take it they failed to implement a factory default setting in the "hidden Menu"

So when it does come out and people do mess with it, it would be better if someone documented the defaults now and made that as public as how to mess with it, then there are no excuses :D

I was waiting until somes answers regards the programable software became available.
It maybe has "Bo Diddly" to do with this but sometimes people try running before they can walk.
(not aimed at Delboy or anyone else for that matter), just I'm sure time will tell :D

I was just thinking not everyone will be as thoughtful and noble as both of you, So lets say the cats out the bag and the next step is that someone else lets it all out the bag there are going to be a few folk wishing they had noted it down BUT didn't.

Don't have one or would have a go and i'm in no way implying either of you should as you have done plenty of great stuff since it arrived on our shores, just think might as well if someone can be arsed.

A list of MENU functions and default settings as shown on MY radio!

Please make special note - DO NOT PRESS THE "BAND" BUTTON WHILST IN ENGINEERING MODE - This resets the value to the current signal being received on the radio. You will need a signal generator to reset this to the proper value!!!!!!

YOU CAN SERIOUSLY F**K UP YOUR RADIO - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

ALSO - Please note the defaults are what MY RADIO has - That does not mean your radio is the same!!!!

I cannot stress enough how easy it is to ruin your radio by messing about with the menu. Probably nothing that cant be fixed of course but PLEASE BE CAREFUL!

Excellent! Now at least those that have can stop wishing they did and get back to the Radio

The Phantom Menu Pushers of old are still up the creek without a signal generator of sorts.
