I was at college today and during my lunch break I put my scanner into close call mode, got a hit from the security on 460.2400. There was a CTCSS but can't remember it. So that is the frequency for Middlesbrough College.

Indeed I am, I just love listening in to this stuff. I am waiting to hear if I can pick up the college from my house, might get it with the scanner plugged into the TV aerial on the roof. That usually works for longer distant signals.

best bet is to buy a disconne antenna, but a tv aerial definitely will pull in them weak signals

While scanning earlier today I picked up what sounded like a taxi firm on 165.3375, there was a CTCSS code but can't remember it. Can't ID on the WTR as it's screwed up at the moment.

Plus, the Uni frequencies and most of Boro shopwatch you cant pick up voices on nomore I dont think. Mine was just noise on the set number dials. Noise and beeps.

I can still hear voice comms on the uni frequency at 456.500, they must put out a good signal as I can hear them on my handheld here in Billingham without any problems. The other uni freq is 456.550, not sure if that is still active.

I am certain M'bro shopwatch is still listenable too, only one frequency out of three which is TRBO encrypted I believe.

I think you're right about the shopwatch, I listened the other day but didn't hear anything on the frequencies. Stockton still works though on 165.1625, and Billingham on 453.1125.

Some other frequencies worth noting are Hartlepool Council on 166.1250 and 453.4750, Growhow is on 453.0750, as I mentioned Teesside University are both available to listen to on 456.5000 and 456.5500, Marton Taxis are on 165.2375, Hollywood Bowl at Teesside Retail Park use 449.3125 (C 74.4) - found this one the other week when I was there and had my scanner in my pocket on closecall lol.
