Evolution Festival

Post by festivalradio »

Evo is Sun/Mon next weekend - build & comms checking should be starting sometime this week.
Anybody got any freqs/tones?

Ask Andrew233. My money is on him having some involvement in the event. ;-)

Yes, he is there - though he wasn't tonight. Hopefully I'll catch up with him at some point during the event!

Build has been taking place - some chatter on 462.3625 this afternoon. No tones as yet, though, sorry.

Maybe I'm a licensed supplier? Maybe I'm not?
Maybe I'm licensed on General? Maybe I'm not?
Maybe I'm an amateur? Maybe I'm not?
Maybe I'm a customer? Maybe I'm not?
Maybe I'm crew? Maybe I'm not?
Maybe I'm authorised to use the channels for the event? Maybe I'm not?

How would you know?

In all honesty, I don't really care. Just make you're mind up if you're anti-scanner or pro-scanner

maybe you're confused....... maybe not

Suppliers don't generally use mag mounts on scaffold poles to be honest, so that's that one out the window. We use things like colinears, folded dipoles, yagi's, 4-stacks etc etc. There again, maybe we don't.

Getting back ON topic, and sorry I haven't posted since the festi...

Had a lot chatter on 456.3875 & 462.425 also. Few of the other STH frequencies had random bits on them, but not as much as the ones mentioned.
Majority of the tones were coming in as digital, so didn't bother to search through them all...

If only that were true.

Worked a recent event where I asked a well-known nationwide supplier to provide me with 2 UHF antennae that would be mounted onto a 7m scaffold pole for their desk mobile we were hiring.
What did I get? 2 UHF 1/4 wave magmounts with about 1.5m of cable on each.

Still, I can't complain too much - the radios were at least programmed to the specified frequencies this year, which is a significant improvement on previous events...
