I've taken the plunge and purchased a SAMLEX SEC1235 (30amp)... only 2 months old & from a local HAM operator.

the Samlex 30A is going great - driving the stalker at 8-10w fm and 20ish ssb (strugglin to get 4 & 8 with the antique 3A!)... also powers the b300p at full chat no probs..
Although it's switch mode i hav no probs with noise etc and its really slim and compact which is a bonus... and I got it for 50squid which I thought was a steal as its virtually new!
