Component identification
Hello all,i am trying to identify this component ( i believe it to be a resistor). This was removed from a Realistic TRC 1005 handheld, the small hi/lo power switch PCB, one leg of the resistor has broken away, any help with identifying it`s value will be great, only one white line can be seen on the blue body with a green mark at the end.
Any thoughts?
Cheers

Re: Component identification
probably wont help but I have a TRC-209, I opened up to take a look, has 2 resistors on the Hi/Lo power button PCB one is 8.6K and the larger one is 150R,

Re: Component identification
Thanks for taking the time and looking GT390, i wonder if your two resistors in parallel would have the same value as the one i`m after???

Re: Component identification
they are not in parallel on this handset, the 8K6 one is 1/4 w and the 150R is a big fellow, maybe 1/2 or 1w rating

Re: Component identification
Found on ebay, bottom one looks the same as the old Amstrad type:

Re: Component identification
There is a guy on another forum I use who says he has the service manual for the TRC1005, I have sent him a PM to see if he can help,

Re: Component identification
Here you go..from the chap who has the service manual

"Evening Robert,
According to the manual, the value / rating of R200 on the high / low power switch board is 33 Ohms / 2 Watts.
You are probably way ahead of me, but when the switch is in the 'low' position this resistor is inserted into the +ve supply for the RF driver and RF power output transistors - the only circumstances under which I can imagine the resistor burning up is:
-Driver, or more likely output transistor, went short-circuit
-While that fault condition was present, the power switch was moved to 'low' - that would place the entire supply voltage across that 33 ohm resistor.
So before replacing that resistor, be sure the radio is operating normally (and drawing normal current) with the switch in the 'high' power position.
Good luck. I still have my (older) TRC-1001, I gave the TRC 1005 away to a friend many years ago"

Re: Component identification
Thank you very much, i am suitably impressed,i didn`t expect a reply that quick, may i be cheeky and ask one more thing? could you confirm where the green and grey wires are soldered on the small hi/lo power PCB?GT390 wrote: ↑27 Aug 2019, 19:41 Here you go..from the chap who has the service manual

Just two wires, green and grey,so i suppose logically they go to the switch, just wanted to make sureGT390 wrote: ↑30 Aug 2019, 13:10 how many wires go to the board ? there is one just listed on ebay if you want another
