Zetagi B33 MOSFET query

Post by MiXiN » 26 Aug 2018, 01:13

ZETAGI_B33.jpg
I have a Zetagi B33 (25W Amplifier) here with a shorted Mosfet, however, there's no identification on the Transistor.

Does anyone know what MOSFET they use, please?

Thank you for the replies.

A Google around suggested it could've been any of 4 Mosfets, but the MS1307 was mentioned.

I have some RM3 Transistors here - so do you think these could work?

I'll let the experts answer that question. I myself just about know one end of a PL259 from the other! ;)

Use the RM3, it can only go bang.posting.php?mode=reply&f=53&t=55738#

Are you saying it won't work?

Unfortunately, the link you provided just redirects me to reply here.

It should work just fine unless there's another fault.

Thanks a lot, Zephyr.

I'll report back when it's fitted. 👍

Well, I fitted a MS1307 & a RM3 and the result was terrible.

Feeding the amplifier with 3.5W at 12V, the amplifier gave out around 12W on first key, then quickly dropped to around 8W and the Transistor blew.

The heatsink got hot considering I only keyed for 10 seconds, so there's a fault elsewhere - where, I've no idea.
