It doesn't matter which wire goes where with CB radio internal speakers.
Look at the Cobra 148 GTL-DX for example. Both wires to the internal speaker are purple.

It DOES make a difference with double or stereo speakers, just in case someone wants to hook up his stereo at home with knowledge he found here

That's interesting as I would like to wire a set of headphones to give a stereo sound via both ear pieces.

Re: Internal speaker wires, what colour is posertive
If wired back to front current passes through the inductor the opposite way round which causes the magnetic field to be reversed, So the speaker cone sucks in when it should be pressing outwards and vice-versa
Although from a listeners point of view i dont think its noticable

Re: Internal speaker wires, what colour is posertive
With two or more loudspeakers, getting the polarity wrong on one of them does two things. First and the most obvious is that the bass content goes down, because as one speaker 'sucks' the other 'blows' and cancels out each other! It also wrecks the stereo effect - things only on the left stay on the left, things ion the rights stay on the right, but things that are right in the middle get reduced which sounds very odd.
if you wire headphones up you want the coils of each one to go in and out together on a mono source. If you get it wrong it does your head in. The sound appears to be in the middle of your head and makes some people feel sea sick! Easy do when each transducer has two conductors!
