Post by Classic »

Hi guys i bought Ceramic Disc Capacitors from ebay mixed pack of 1000. They are all the same physical size is that normal ? I bought another lot the same amount and same values but some are different in physical size. Just wondered if the first lot that are all the same size are fakes ?

Ask fairy ;)
Seriously, get DMM capable of measuring caps and check.
I use https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2016-T7 ... 41868.html and recommend.

Worth the price. Not only for caps, but diodes, transistors and so on.

I had the same doubt when I bought mine from China. They seem to have gotten smaller over the years. I measured mine using my meter and they were all within spec. Saying that I do tend to use caps from other scrap radios whenever possible.

I do buy new caps, but when it comes to older radio's I'm like Sammy. I try to replace broken/damaged caps with recycled caps from scrap radio's. This also maintains an original look inside a radio which I much prefer.
Never, ever, ever....bloody anything ever!

Far too many radio's to list here. But I do own a legal one...
