Well spotted. Don't need any personally but I know good ones are hard to get and very expensive.

Coming from a decent company, you shouldn't have a problem with a refund if they turn out to be pants either.

I have dealt with them before. but £17 thats a bargain price to get all those stinking lincolns back up and running.

lets hope they are genuine and no one buys the whole stock.

They don't look like motorola 477's , "generic brand" they are not claiming they are either but if they work better than 1945's its not a bad price.

I see that they did use a generic stock pic, will have to mail them and see what they say about the markings on the case if motorola or what.

I've bought components from them before . A bit pricey , but they had some bits that I couldn't find elsewhere . Saying that for £17 a pop I'd want an original 477 .

For sure, but as someone said they are "generic" so maybe not NOS. Probably a fake/equiv. but if they work ok and seem linear then maybe worth a punt I suppose. If anyone buys one and tries it then we will know for sure. I waited 1 year for a used MRF477 :/ I don't need any now but I get a few lincolns in for repair from time to time.

I usually put 455 if 477 is broken. 20/40W clean signal.

that is the usual route to go, but even they are hard to get a real 455. I know kcb now stocks the SRF3775. But still if we can find a drop in replacement all the better.

It is easy. I buy second hand CB amplifiers containing 455 inside :)
Got 7 or 8 pills in a box waiting for their time.

I just got a message back with a picture of their current stock - which shows the manufacturer as On semiconductors. On Semi never made MRF477s so these are fake. Mitsubishi never made MRF477s either to my knowledge - they were a Motorola device that Huago have tried to replicate with mixed results. weazle66 on ebay might have some Huago ones if you ask him nicely, but they aren't as good as original.

MRF497s I bought with the On Semi marking just catch fire when you place them in a radio, because they are actually N-channel MOSFETS with the intrinsic diode being forward biased between what would be the collector and the emitter on a real MRF497.

Sorry Tim :) That was a typo . I said Motorola in my email to them , but I was looking at cars when I posted on here which distracted me a bit :)

As you say . Motorola . Not Mitsubishi :)

Anyway . That's good to know . So basically the guy who replied to me (Manolo) , told me a blatant lie .
