President Lincoln on/off/Volume pot

Post by Mudslinger »

I have a Mk1 Lincoln here which will not turn off as the on/off switch is broken. (Volume part works ok)

Does anyone know where I can get a new one? it looks to be something you could buy from RS or even ebay.

The person who had the radio before made a hole in the lid and fitted a toggle switch to turn it on and off rather than fixing it properly. {bnghd}

I could swap the Vol and Squelch pots over, but I would rather fix it in the correct way.

Many thanks

That's the one Nick, I don't suppose you would like to sell me one of the pots?

I cannot believe someone went to the effort to take the switches out, solder a longer wire to the board and fit a toggle switch to turn the radio on and off when they could have just swapped the pots around.

Im not sure if the squelch and volume controls are the same value,If they are then swapping them would have certainly been a more sensible option, I bet you wish you listened to me and kept that faulty lincoln for spares now :lol:

I can pop the control in the post for you no probs just PM me your address again.

Hope you got it fixed Mudslinger. The Lincoln's are fantastic radio's.

As an aside, I have a large box of Lincoln parts if anybody needs anything. From push buttons to processor boards.

Just PM me if anyone needs anything.
Never, ever, ever....bloody anything ever!

Far too many radio's to list here. But I do own a legal one...

You don't happen to have a top lid without any extra holes do you?
