Undien 2830 talks to me

Righto I got a Uniden 2830 here, The one I ripped the mystery board out of. Anyway it works a treat except when you talk your voice comes back through the speaker, Not a whisper but pretty damn loud. Any ideas dudes?

You can fit a diode and resistor in series to the 1905 audio amp to cut it off during TX,Ive done loads and it works fine.

Only time i have ever seen a 4001 is on an Oscillator board for some Uniden 80 channel radios, And i have a 1750Khz tone burst board here with one on, But they are also used for the UP/DWN mod so the mic buttons dont reset the freq to zero.

Anyway its gone now and better off too..

If you are a bit dubious on fitting the diode and resistor post a photo [a clear one] of the 1905 solder side and i will make it a bit clearer where too add them.

Im looking at it now but my eyesight is naff but I can see where they are ok. Next to where that mystery board was there was a relay fitted too but it was wired up to a speaker socket that had been added. I didnt think you needed a relay when adding a speaker socket to them.

There is info here of using a relay for "talkback" removal, So its possible whoever did the mods had gone by this page.

All the very early Taiwan 2830's/Lincoln's had this issue. No idea whether it was intentional or not, but nobody liked or wanted it and carried out the mods detailed above.

The problem was ironed out with the second run (sound familiar)?
