Marconi/ifr/aeroflex 2966a

Post by robber57 »

I can buy a aeroflex 2966a tester at a decent price and i know more or less its recent history ( calibrated a few years ago).
I know the 2955a/b is more or less the populair choise in the hobby circuit and i tried to figure out what the difference is but besides the gsm protocols supported ( which i dont have any use for) i cant really notice any difference, is it just the "newer modell"?

My intention is to do ham/cb work with it l for which the 2955 is excellent, i just dont want to fall in the pit/trap that a higher model number is "better" while infact it may be less suitable.
This 2966 seems perfect for me and i know its condition.
