Evening All. I've been away from the scanning scene for some time but I've just bought a cheap scanner (ubc9000xlt) Got in connected up to a Diamond D777 Antenna. Was wondering if anyone could help! I am a bit stumped as to how to change the frequency step size. My manual says press Hold, Than Shift but there is no Shift key on the receiver! Well not what I can see. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. :D

It's the 'STATUS' button mate, right hand button on the top left of the set, press that and then the step size on the numeric keypad. Press 'CLR' twice and it will go back to the default step for that band. You change the mode the same way if you want a different one to the default.

Managed to erect the D777 and everything connected up. Had a quick scan on the mil air and managed to catch some comms on 231-975, 252-8750, 268-7250 and 242-2000 (242-2000 Active now 19-34)

Nice, you're in a mil/air hotspot there. I stick with 25khz steps for it, 12.5 takes twice the time and isn't worth it.

Evening Admiral. As I mentioned in previous post I've been out of the scanning scene for sometime but I aim to get back into this great hobby as much as I can. I've had most of the usual receivers but sold them so now i'm using the good old 9000xlt. I must say i'm quite impressed with it for £90 it will do until I decide on the next addition to the listening post!
