Help zastone ZT 2R

Post by gosman767 »

Obtained second hand ZT 2R all working fine however as the frequencies were all wrong for my area did a factory default reset
and can now only get 2 bands 144-146 and 430-440. Can't select any off the other preprogrammed bands or VFO tune outside of the two
amateur bands. Any ideas welcomed {bnghd}

They are (allegedly) exact clones of the Yaesu VX-2R and they have to be either modded with 'commander' s/w and programming cable or change internal jumpers (unsolder?). I'd get a cable and try reprogramming it first but if you search for VX-2R stuff you might get lucky. Factory reset is probably back to Yaesu spec i.e. just legal Ham bands.
The perfect face for radio.

Thanks for the reply Mitch, the factory reset is indeed back to Ham bands but a Google search found an undocumented reset that put it back to all bands and full range VFO tuning :-)
