TYT MD380 Missed calls

Post by liamcarbin »

Not strictly scanning - apologies

Mainly use my TYT to listen into local dmr users - not DMR CB etc

Noticed my screen had gone to the missed calls list earlier and saw a shed load. Anyone have an explanation?

Are you using the hacked firmware? Looks like you've intercepted a private call attempt. It's the stuff that shows up in yellow on DSD+.

I am indeed using the hacked firmware.

So no one is actually calling my radio

I have no idea how or why as I'm not an expert with this stuff, but I occasionally get a missed call from someone using TG9990 echolink with the hacked firmware.

Yeah the hacked firmware shows private calls to all IDs, so if you don't respond to them it'll show up as a missed call. If you were listening at the time it happened, you would have probably heard them talking in a private call.

The Retevis RT3 is a rebadged TYT MD-380, so yes, the hacked firmware will work just fine on your set.

If you're talking about ham DMR-MARC then no, you don't need to put in a callsign to receive, you will just see their RID like 9999999 etc, if you download the DMR-MARC database then you will see the callsign on your screen too.
