DSD Help needed

Post by liamcarbin »

Been away from here for a while but just got a cable that attaches my SDR dongle to my antenna.

Trying to use DSD 1.6 however im getting no where.

Ive read tutorials and watched youtube videos. Have set up SDR# and Virtual audio cables. Yet when I run DSD i get nothing apart from

Digital Speech Decoder 1.6.0 beta with Auto P25 & DMR Filter
mbelib version 1.2.4
Audio In/Out Device: /dev/dsp

Where next? {bnghd}

Hi Liam, I would strongly advise you use DSD+ with an SDR rather than DSD.

You need to set the radio software (SDR# etc) to output to the virtual cable in the settings, and generally you need to set the VC as your default recording device in Windows (right-click the speaker icon in the task bar and select recording devices). Keep your playback device as your PC/laptop speakers.

Got it working using DSD+ and SDR# with the DSD+Gui plugin. Is there anyway to mute the radio noise and just have the decoded audio ?

With the VC installed there should now be an extra option in the Windows audio recording settings called 'listen', untick the box and apply.

If youre using SDR sharp, in the DSDplus plugin you have an external volume tick box and volume slider - untick it for DMR audio only

Thank you very much.

Still playing with it. Can only seem to pick up one DMR freq which is the local shopping centre - which decodes quite well. I have a few others but its just showing as data in DSD
