Hi,
As anyone managed to program a pager to receive the RNLI call outs, if so what type of pager would I need to get hold of and would I also need some software to re-program the pager.
Thanks.

Hi redman99,
Many thanks for your comments, I have the RLNI pager software on my computer but there can be up to an hours delay from when the call goes out on the RNLI crew pagers. I was in Seahouses last week, I had my scanner with me, the lifeboat was called out and the crew were talking to the Humber Coastguard. The message came on the computer some 40 minutes later, by this time the lifeboat was on it's way back to base.

I will keep my eye open for a Swissphone pager on the second hand market.

Once again thanks. Dave

I haven't used PDW for a while but the older versions (the ones that supported FTP, upto 2.14 IIRC) also allowed SMTP mail delivery for filtered spots so you could have it sent as email to your phone or if you can find a suitable gateway have the resulting email sent as a text message. We used to use such a system and it was very quick, by triggering it off the initial page to the launching authority it would arrive via SMS before the crew pagers had gone off.
my friend grafter, seems like you are using a very offensive tone in the reply.

In some areas I believe the RNLI pagers use channel 0 with neither flex nor pocsag

therefore little point in decoding these

Err can I just point out that Douglas, Peel, Port Erin, Port St Mary and Ramsey are in the Isle of Man, not Wales!

Thanks

Best take it up with the RNLI, that was the station list copied from their website, grouped into their administrative regions prior to the changes in 2013.

Sorry to open an 'old' thread, but for info, I am using PDW on 153.337.500mhz you occasionally get RNLI pagers come through on there, as everything now goes through Capita, regardless of swissphone or not.

look out for Capcode 0600739 unknown location, 0040198 RNLI Portsmouth, 1001154 RNLI Newquay, 1001150 RNLI Cornwall

hope this helps anyone, also if anyone has any others to share, feel free.
