Which interface Baofeng UV-5R or 888 With FRN

Post by radiogaga »

Anyone point me to a tried and tested interface for the UV5R or 888? Tried a couple and nothing. Starting to think the radios are dead. Thanks

What frequencies are you trying to pick up?

I've got a UV-5R and pick up repeaters quiet a distance from my house - I'm in west Drayton and get Amersham and Harrow with no issues.

I haven't tried TX as I did once but into the Harrow repeater - they couldn't hear me clearly and that's running 5w through the standard antenna.

The radio is fine, as per the title looking for a reliable FRN Interface to go with the Baofeng. ;)

hi,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181410161338 - this is the one.
connectors done by builder for your radio. it took me ~1hr for
finetuning. tried an 888s with eliminator, but it went too hot
and switched off. now i have a B6 running (with eliminator)
and all works well since 2 month.

The M0AQC interface is great, I used one with a BF888s and battery eliminator however the eliminator melted after a long TX once. So now I'm using the radio strapped into the desk charger and it's fine, it gets warm during long TX but nothing to worry about.
