Anyone seen these ?

Closer inspection and they actually look quite nice physically.

No details on software yet.

Looks like it uses a Kb-5c Mobile Phone Battery.

Also available in White - which looks hideous IMHO!

409shop have added the software to the download section of their website (direct link). From what I've seen, voice prompts are selectable English/Chinese, one of the keys is programmable scan or panic alarm, and they support VOX, TOT etc etc. Interesting variety of frequency ranges suported by the software, will be interesting to see if any of the other hit the market.

I really like the look of them, just ordered one to have a play with. I'll let you know how I get on

It's getting the programming cable that works with it. Otherwise it's a nice little radio.

Look forward to seeing your results Freddie :)

Yeah, programming will be interesting! It's a Baofeng headset plug, and it has a standard USB on the side, so hopefully I'll be able to work something out - there's people on other forums who've managed to program them, so it can't be too odd!

Other than a TM1 experimenter, I'm not too sure what the market is, maybe fixed 446 for a Scout troop?

I'll pass. That integral antenna looks a nightmare to modify or replace.

The market does seem to be there for "shirt pocket" radios for officey (rather than warehousey) environments - same sort of thing as the MotoTRBO SL4000 slim series

I wouldn't consider it as a DX'ers rig, but a "convenience" rig.

Great for talking to your mates at rallies, hiking, holiday comms etc.

Arrived quickly (looks like 409shop are now keeping some stock in the UK, because this came Royal Mail in a couple of days), not had much chance to play with it yet, but a couple of first impressions.

Build quality feels decent, but not exceptional. Definitely nearer a BF888s than a UV82 kind of quality.
It came with a battery, holstery clip thing, charger dock, power adaptor and travel adaptor of death. Its just a miniUSB, either into the dock or straight into the side of the radio, so I've not bothered with the death charger, works fine on a normal USB charger.
Programmed without a hitch using the software from 409shop and a cheapie Baofeng cable.
Audio quality surprisingly good both ways! There's a weird intermittent clicking on the receive if you're using DCS and very close to the transmitting radio. Need to have a bit of a play to work out what it is. Doesn't happen with CTCSS.
Scan is a bit slow, but works as expected.

Overall, I really like it! Seems like a really capable radio for the size and price. I'll do a video with some range tests comparing to a couple of other models when I get a bit of time.

Thanks for the mini-review, but what's the market? 446, 70cm, UK light or a mixture? It just doesn't seem to fit a mainstream audience to me, which normally means it will disappear as quick as it appeared. Does it do offsets?
