GM340 programming problem

Post by mattltm »

I'm trying to get a GM340 up and running via computer control.

I've got the audio in via the accessory plug on the back and it all works great apart from there is no CTCSS encode on TX. If I use the hand mic it all works absolutely fine.

Have I missed something in the programming?

Is the unit known to you to be 100% good? Maybe the internal mic is shot?

It can be easy to miss things in the programing? if things work fine with another mic then its clearly the mic at fault.

It's a genuine Motorola microphone and a genuine Motorola accessory plug.

When I use the fist mike, the radio transmits and send the CTCSS tone. When I use the the accessory port PTT and Mic audio in the radio transmits the audio but does not generate the CTCSS tone.

I'm using the radio as an internet connected gateway and it working fine apart from the CTCSS problem. I may end up hooking up an external CTCSS generator to pin 7 and seeing if that works.
