MD380 battery life ?

Post by WhiteNoisePoetry »

Had one for a week now to play with, battery life seems poor.

Only a day's use or so on RX.

That's a bit crap to me.

Anyone else noticed, or have a I got a dud ?

Sounds about right, I only get a day out of both of mine on RX and light TX use. The scanning function seems to drain it more, and obviously if the backlight is permanently on then that won't help, but yup, yours is about right and you don't have a dud.

Have you updated the firmware? One of the later updates fixed a bug where the backlight stayed on constantly when the radio was on an analog channel. There hasn't been anything new released in quite a while though so if you bought the radio recently it probably has the latest one already.

I must have a recent rig, since I am able to turn off the backlight ok.

I have noticed a few very minor things..

Bargraph output meter only works in digi mode.
Cannot use function keys to change power output when the channel is busy.
