Programming Entel HX 480

Post by Phats »

Hi, I have got a few Entel HX480 and wanting to program them to 446.

I have got the CPROG400G software.

I have added a 3.5mm to 2.5mm jack converter to my cable for my Icom icr5, although when I try to read from the radio (HX480) it fails.

The cable connects my scanner grand, and I have changed the COMM Port to 1 and 2 with no luck. Does anyone have any idea were I am going wrong.

Thanks.

I also had problems with the 3-pin connector.
Just got me a 4-pin video connector of 2.5 mm worried.
Cut off the end and solder a 3 pin socket.
I associate this with the ICOM OPC 478 interface.
Goes perfectly.

Would this adaptor work something similar

Would it save me cutting and soldering.

Hi folks,

I gave up in trying to program these a while ago but still kept them, I have now got a hold on an original Entel earpiece. I am now looking to know what cable I need to connect / solder.

I have found some info on the net says to get a 2.5mm jack 3 contact and put GND and put ex/txt on same second contact (in the centre) and no like in the last.

Can anyone tell we what I need to do and what wires go where

Hi there, I'm really sorry to bump this topic, but I've recently got a HX480 without cable & the software. (at least a working battery and charger)
I've contacted Entel, but as this is a more than 9 year old device they no longer have the ability to provide either the cable and software.

I saw that some people here have the CPROG400G software, and building the programming cable seems fairly easy.

Would it be possible for those who have the software to share it? That would be really nice.

Many thanks
