There is a gap in the Cellular bands which would be suitable for a new 930+ mhz band, if we tried to get an allocation from OFCOM. Alternatively part of the 860 mhz band has very little on it. They should have offered us a replacement frequency, not just taken it all away.

I've heard some strange Mototrbo activity around 865mhz.

Very random, and using DSD the demod isn't perfect, but sound like 3-4 CBers/Hams but with no IDs.

Hi Guys,

..setup with 2 x 20el loop yagi's vert/hor and 7/8 coax the frequencies are all blocked most s9....or at least almost all...
Ch 20 (or ch 39 on the stabo) is rather clear :-) only between 240-260 degrees a "weak" GSM carrier.
(and have a few qsy options...though most are blocked)
So...im happy the "calling freq" is relative oke.

anyway...Pointing towards UK ...hoping for the tropo conditions to pick up soon..

SWL CH20 on the trusty Delta 1 which still works :-)

Ummm interesting.... I wonder if there are any active people on that band? I have two 934 CB radios, one is still in its original box in new condition. I did have a listen on that band a while ago but there was nothing. I might just sell them if anybody is interested?

Yes "naughty" but very nice! ;)
It was naughty for them to have dangled the carrot in the first place, people shelled out a lot of money at the time, then taken it away without so much as a by your leave or offer of an alternative!
Glad some folks still find a use for the gear!
I have one here, bought back when it was the "expensive" new thing rage, might get tempted to hook it up again one of these days! ;)

I would imagine it would be quite hard to track down a station operating on there, especially if they are using multi-element yagi-type antennas. Great contact from Holland to UK yesterday though :-)
