They look nice rigs for the price, pretty full-featured too. I can see the high power mode becoming a thing if/when the Unspeakable Thing date passes. These rigs will have to bear the new UKCA mark to be placed on the market in the UK, in theory. My (very) limited understanding suggests that EN 303 405 (PMR446 spec) would no longer be valid, and our domestic IR2030/34 will have to be updated to define our own PMR446 standard which hasn't been written yet. Obviously none of this matters in the real world though, see who finds the first UKCA spec'd rig!

I have absolutely no need for these, having already a drawer full of handhelds.

That did not stop me from ordering a pair!
£8.99 delivered has to be the bargain of the year! :)

I bought a pair of those Floureon walkie-takies Delboy, they work fine. The big companies aren't exactly rushing themselves to bring 16 channel sets out, I only know of the Motorola one, which has decreased in price a bit now.

Yep these Floureon's are just about the only 16 Channel radios available and they work really well.

Some have asked if the HI/LO power actually makes a difference and I can confirm that it does. Did a few tests recently and a receiving station about 5 miles from me noticed a 3 s-point increase when the Floureon was switched to high power.

Hi - sorry to hijack! I’ve just bought a pair of these although the hi/low power option appears to be missing. Any ideas?

Thanks :)

That's interesting... I wonder if they've updated the firmware to block access to the high power mode, maybe to keep them legal?

Anyone else confirm this?

Hi there

I've just got a pair today via Amazon and I don't have a "Hi Power" option either.... {bnghd} I'm really fed up about this. I only bought these as they had that option (and all the blooming rechargeable batteries to go with them  ) . Does anyone know if there's a way to turn it back on???? Or where I can get a set that does have the hi power setting???? Many thanks for any help!

Hi there

I have the same issue  . Did you manage to solve this? Is there a way to unlock it? I'm pretty cheesed off

Many thanks!

I'm guessing the hi/lo power option was removed from the firmware to comply with PMR 446 specifications.

To be honest if you want hi power, buy a Baofeng but it would be interesting to see if the hi power can be restored via a mod or key press.

Hey there! Thanks for the reply. Yes it's more out of interest that I'd like to see if the function can be turned on. Just like the idea of seeing if it's possible. If anyone has any ideas how this might be done I'd love to hear them. Also of anyone has a pair that has the function enabled and wants to sell them - I'd be interested in a really cheap second pair just so I can compare...

Cheers for the reply and thanks for any ideas.

For anyone who's interested this is the official response from Floureon UK -

"Really sorry for the delay in contacting you for helping you get your issue resolved, also really ashamed to bring this unpleasant shopping experience to you.
As for your quesetion,The High / Low power problem you mentioned, at the beginning, each of our walkie talkies had this feature, but due to the regulations of the radio communication department, we had to delete this feature and change the product description. But currently this feature of walkie talkies is not sold out, so this feature will also appear, I hope you understand.
If there is a problem with the walkie talkies,i can send the replacement to you,can you accept that?
Have a nice day!
Best Regards
FLOUREON UK"
