Gre Psr-200E

Post by andy5600 »

Hi all,

Fancy one of these dedicated to air band only.

Does anyone have experience of a the this scanner?
seen one on #bay and it says it has the 8.33 step.
However looking at the manual for this found on the net this is not mentioned but 12.5 is? so not sure if it has 8.33 or not.

Cannot find a review of this scanner either.

Do not want to buy one and find out it does not support the 8.33 step.

Thanks.

That's got to be old obsolete stock surely? GRE stopped production some time ago hence why you can't get the popular PSR-282 and PSR-295 handheld scanners anymore.

Yes probably old stock, but still new and never used.
I believe that most or if not all of the gre equipment was manufactured in japan or china.
So you still see stock coming up for sale from that countries as well as new stuff over here.
I suppose that when the production lines were going at full chat there was heaps of gre branded stuff left when gre went bust or whatever.

Entirely your choice, it's your money.

A comparable current equivelant is the Uniden Bearcat UBC360CLT (Should cost you about £100)

You can tell when comparing the two how design and functionality have changed.

The only possibly downside of the 360CLT is that it could have the same 'issue' (I don't like it) as the 355CLT in that you cannot program some bands into the memory channels (such as airband)

Oh,
That could be a drawback for an airband scanner.

Had one, got some breakthrough on airband from paging frequencies, not surprised, was on an outside aerial and I got Winter hill looking down on me. Excellent audio, could get Manchester ground around 17 miles away, my house was fairly low down. Seen them on Flea Bay going for around 30 to 40 quid, if you get an good one for that money would say it was a good buy.
