Hi All,
I am keen to set up an inexpensive sdr programme using a dongle and antenna. I am limited computer literate, apparently. This makes computer use for me tricky. Can I get the user friendly version from you people in radio land ? I bought an SDR book but found it difficult to locate the information I needed. I just want to set up a small operation for monitoring HF and
SW bands.
I am looking for advice here and will appreciate any help you can give me. TIA.

Re: 're. SDR and setting up
You specifically mention SW and HF, so the cheap RTL dongles wont cut the mustard, even those modified to work on the lower frequencies.
Take a look at the SDR play (RSP1A) , sub £100 new, comes with good software that's easy to install and use, and is well supported.
There may be others, but I can vouch that one will do the job.

Try some of the online SDR services which need no setup on your part but does give you a flavour of how to navigate your way around SDR software. Once that's ticked off then, as Tigersaw rightly says head for an SDRplay device.
