Does anyone know how to get DSD+ to decode from a REAL RADIO? not an SDR.
Have my FT-857D audio going into the Audio Input on my soundcard I downloaded DSD+ but cant get it to decode for some reason.
Even downloaded the V-Cable thinking I still needed that but still the same no decode.
Does anyone know how to set DSD+ up to decode from audio from a real radio not from an SDR? (cant find any config file or anything in DSD+ folder) maybe just me being thick and missing a vital sound configuration or something but I don't think it is me.
Does DSD+ even work from a real radio or does it only work for SDR's

I recall doing this with a 857 in the past. You cant use the radio audio output, its not wideband enough, you have to use the output from one of the sockets, RTTY, PSK or 9600 baud digital, I'm afraid I cant remember but it was thoroughly disappointing listening to a few daleks and I didn't do it again

Re: DSD+ From a real Radio
Ok tigersaw thanks for that.
It was just something I thought I would try today as I have a pc dedicated to the radio only and we have quite a lot of 2m dmr activity in Leicester.
I do have a RTL SDR on the other pc just thought it would be nice to have it decode from my radio on the dedicated radio pc.
I will wait then till I finish building my sound card data interface and try it again as that will feed audio from the data port on the radio.

Re: DSD+ From a real Radio
Yeah thanks for that interesting info most helpful.
I believe the data interface I am making will take care of that as the data port on the radio has dedicated Audio IN and Audio OUT in the form of DATA OUT 1200bps (audio out) and DATA IN (audio IN) so I am "presuming" that they may be taped off to the radios discriminators somewhere.

Re: DSD+ From a real Radio
AFAIK 1200bps audio out is just fixed level audio, 9600bps is discriminator audio..

Re: DSD+ From a real Radio
Cheers metradio. Would that be best to solder for the interface just wondering as the instructions say use the 1200bps but if you think the 9600bps would be best I will solder my cable to use that for audio out

Re: DSD+ From a real Radio
You want 9600 as I mentioned earlier.
It bypasses the squelch and de-emphasis
