I have just stripped down a couple of PC's, they belonged to my son who passed away last year and were password protected so I was unable to go any further than switch them on. The crafty little sod!
I'm a complete numpty when it comes to computers, I can identify most of the parts - PSU, motherboard etc but what I'm after is identifying what type of motherboard they are and what capacity they are, if indeed you can do that visually?
The PC's were assembled by my son and the parts were obtained from various suppliers.
Any help would thankfully received

Re: Help Please
A lot of motherboards will lose any BIOS password when the CMOS battery is removed for a couple of minutes.
Post some pictures if you want them identified.

Re: Help Please
Mother board in the first photo is a Gigabyte GA-G41MT-S2P
Mother board in second photo is an ECS P4M900t
Unfortunately I am unable to see the CPU's as they are under the big fans.
The memory chips will probably state what the are on a sticker.
