I recently bought a 125xlt scanner the software i downloaded is a demo version that lasts 30 days and only allows me to program 1 bank (100) channels. I downloaded it off www.butel.nl is there any other prgrams out there that is not demo and not restricted to 1 bank.
Thanks

Yes, there is another free program called Scan125 that is written by Nick Bailey.
You can take a look at it here: http://www.nick-bailey.co.uk/scan125/
Basically it's free to download and if you register the program you get access to some additional features that are normally time limited.
If you like the software you can send a donation to the author.
It's not as polished as the Butel software but then again it's free and what could be better than that?
The author sometimes posts on this forum, I guess he would be pleased for more people to use his software and donate to keep the development going. Maybe post some comments here, I'm sure he would like to see who is using it. Here's one of his posts, just a few threads down from this one: http://www.transmission1.eu/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=47657
Hope this helps
Thanks
Simon

Hi Listner132
You said you had problems with Scan125.
Please can you elaborate.
I'm not sure if you are also implying I don't check my Email but I can assure you I do, have over 600 satisfied registered users and many thanks for excellent/outstanding support.
For whatever reason your Scan125 issues appear to have not arrived with me.
Please try again using the Email address at the bottom of this page: http://nick-bailey.co.uk/scan125/

Another vote for the Butel software for me but I have to question why the scanners are so much harder to program these days than they used to be.
My old Realistic scanners were a doddle to program but you need a PhD to program the Uniden ones via the keypad.

FreeScan seems ok , I presume it works with the 125 as well as the 3500

Fair enough. No hard feelings. I'm a little puzzled by the "easier to register" and "no log in issues".
Clearly there is a user experience issue you have come across with Scan125 which I would like to understand this. Firstly there is no requirement to register Scan125. Registration, which is free, just removes the timeout on the virtual console/display and full remote control scanning functions. Butel do not offer this full PC control of the scanner. You still have far more control over the scanner than is available in the Butel software. I'm told my data entry / edit /etc functions are not as slick/good as Butel's (fair comment although I have not used Butel software) but on the other hand I have many registered users who have no issues and just love the full remote control and virtual display functions.
I'm also confused by the "no log in issues". There are no login actions required or indeed any login functions unless you are referring to the once of registration process.
