Thank you, I have come across a similar info last night also.
When I put up antron years back I had noise, fitted choke made little no difference.
Was only when I insulated antron from pole I lost most of noise ,then latter removed choke and I saw slightly stronger signal and nothing negative noted either .
That choke was also 5turns 4" with 213.

Was reading that actually 6 turns May be better, but then also that you need to do experiments eith coils to find the best.
Bit difficult to keep dropping a antenna every half hour dozens of times.

I imagine like most things their is loads of contradictory info.deciding what is accurate is hard hence why I ask so many questions to get the input from those who have experienced ,done ,sorted such before.
Hopefully they share correct info and this can only help others too in future if come across posts.

I have ordered a double long male pl last night.
I'm awaiting some superior quality pl2597 mm entry to come up on ebay too at fair price for 10.
Going to make some better leads than 58 rg .

Spotted a nice imax in Bristol on bay too ,but has second antenna with it.
Just a little much to travel most wise.debt mind the drive at good time but diesel yeek.

With endfed antennas like A99 and similar mast and coax is part of the antenna. Affects both tx and rx. Changes with mast height, coax length/grounding.
To prevent that use non conductive pole or insulate antenna from mast, use ugly balun right under feed point and another one where coax enters the building/shack. http://www.karinya.net/g3txq/chokes/ aim for >4k
Some reading for afternoon coffee/tea/scotch/whatever your poison is :) https://www.w8ji.com/end-fed_vertical.htm

Cheers Chris, I saw that graph is where I decided to use 5turns from for cb .

Interesting to make a second choke where it enters house. I can do this .
Would you again use 5turns on 4" Chris.

More than anything I'm v suprised swr is higher when antron is 6' above ridge.
Yet slightly lower bellow.
However it has risen slightly anyway and tuning rings moved slightly too get get best swr.
Yet nothing changed around it except coax feeds, so must be relative as you say effects end fed..

Thanks Chris.

Still not where it was or as low however it's working but higher set slightly at end of cept than uk 40 dispute it being perfect when was low down to adjust.
Even trying to best judge it to balance it out didn't work.

Second air choke seems to work Chris, lost nearly 2spoints of noise which is dam good on some frequencies and ssb is now Crystal mate.
Many thanks .

I did also find a coax fault, a new run of 8mini came with fitted plugs.
Two strands of centre were cut through when cutting to fit, very careless.far to much dielectric cut back too which allowed it on being connected to rotate coax in plug where one strand would make contact with outer via pl outer.

Only found when removed plug.
Not happy but shows you can't rely on reputable stores doing a good job either.
Still not convinced that was the issue.

Sorted for now anyway.
Thank you for the help all.
Appreciated.

It'll be mine tomorrow when I collect it, all mine..mine!! Muhahahaha (evil laugh) ;)
The two aerials were being advertised separately too, the year-old imax was £50. I sent a cheeky offer of £40 in and he accepted it.

It came with 60ft of nice rg213 attached too :)

It might be a little while as I'm trying to get a cheap 9ft tank-whip to go on top of it, but I'll compare it standard against my Antron and then with the tank-whip. I'll also attach some 108" wires to see if a ground-plane makes any difference ground-wave.

I just need to find someone to talk to to get the 4 readings!

I'll see if I can find that then and have a listen out as it's late and I won't have child-minding duties. Might be doing a car boot at 6am Sunday morning so won't be on too long ;)
