Brand New CB Coffin Mic's.

Post by astradyne »

These have just popped up on the bay. I'd say they're a bargain for the price with free P&P.

if they're not made from old rice inside maybe! haha.

Look forward to feedback from anyone who buys them, but if all OK then yes, decent price. Good find

I'd be more tempted to go with them simply for the fact that it'll take less time . And you're helping keep Doug in business

Got burned by these, they have no shielding over the audio wire

The ebay ones labelled "CRT" and "SHARMANS" are good, but the almost identical ones labelled "CB MICROPHONE" are unshielded. Looks like the curly cord used for headphones. You might get away with them for FM, but here in SSB Oz they have a major feedback problem, especially in a mobile.

After replacing the curly cord with one with a proper shielded audio wire, they worked OK though.

Best to avoid them it seems. Let this thread be a warning to anyone considering purchasing one...

They were as little as £5.10 a while back, even cheaper if you bought them as a pack of 5 I think it was.

They didn't say "Fidelity" on them so I wasn't interested ;)
