Just bought a new "other" K40 microphone in its box for £30. Will have to be brave enough to do the resistor mod' if I want to use the thing now I suppose :?

Another acquisition today,this lot...

AOR AR-2002 (very clean)

Colt 295 cb, boxed & in excellent condition.

Fidelity 3000FM (Ok not the best ever made cb) ;)

Bremi Matcher (looks new)

Swr Meter (New)

Antenna's...

An original Super Modulator 2

X2 original Dial a Match's

Half Breed.

Rebel Raider.

A couple of other unknown antennas ,a mag-mount & what i think is a loft ground plane kit with 3/8 thread fitting.

All the radios work & all this gear came from a local source & actually came from an attic (yes a real attic unlike most of the B.S Ebay ad's) ;) and it had all been there since the 1990's.

Price paid was £40 for everything :)

A bargain mate.

You'll likely get £40 for the Fid3000 on its own in that condition.

Just bought a small cheapish 4-stage linear amp. Not much going on of interest in ebayland at the moment.

Bought a low-pass 1000watts capable 0-30mhz filter for £7 off ebay, just in case my radio interferes with anything locally now I'm actually transmitting on the thing at the moment. Big spender eh ;)

Mint boxed S.H.C SS-485. Still needs the frequency expansion mod doing, but that'll take all of two minutes. This is the low power version with 12W PEP on SSB, but that's plenty enough to drive an amp.

I saw that thing (about £100), but I decided I could have bought 5 Fidelity 1000's for that ;)

I offered the seller £80 and they accepted. So all in all not a bad buy. Gutted about not considering five Fidelity 1000's though.

Picked this up a couple of days ago...

001.jpg

Originally paid £50... But upon receiving it just floating around in the box, with no packaging/padding at all!?! {bnghd}

This resulted in marks/scratches from the 3 pin plug on the front fascia!

Plus one of the screw on banana caps missing, although this is apparently on it's way to me, but we shall see if it actually turns up...

But thankfully it still works. :wtf:

Seller gave me a partial refund of £20! :shh:

Plans are replace the fan and do the 'fan mod' and maybe add warm white leds to the meters!

Yep, its not the lightest weighing a good 7 to 9kg at a guess...

Fair play to the seller, well the manager of the place... as he seemed genuinely miffed at the person who boxed it up and commented that this wasn't the first time!

I was half expecting it to be dead, would have simply started a return if it was... claimed to have found the missing banana screw cap and it would be sent out asap... everything was sorted quickly with only a couple of messages back and fourth.

I thought the amount offered was generous, considering it did still work, so accepted... just a shame it got scratched up.

Given it a clean and check over inside and tested the outputs, only thing I did have to do... was tighten the nut for the voltage adjustment pot.

That could have been like that already, from use... or due to the bumping trip it had in the box on the way to me.

Overall very happy with it and the final price it cost me.
