New 11mtr vertical required ?

Post by gmham »

In the market for a new 10/11mtr vertical. Thinking off the Sirio 827 / Sirio 2016 etc.. any difference between the two ? Any strengthening mods required on them ? Anything else worth considering .. Tornado 27 new ?

2016 need strengthening of L shaped mast mount. Usually bend under a wind. Otherwise is a good antenna.

I doubt there is anyone had them three at the same time, mounted at the same height to compare :) If not, it will be just guessing.

Hard to say.
When i test different antennas or tune them I use low power transmitter located circa 500m from antenna. Always same place, same height and power.
According to that test I can tell if one antenna is better or worst than the other.

Shallow review I would say. Similar results you can get by connecting curtain rail to radio.

I'll second that. I put one up for a friend of mine a while back and the build quality is excellent

I look forward to his "Curtain Rail" review......maybe he will share a youtube link?.
Just maybe the CR special will match this antenna with just 3 watts of input....I wait with excitement.

I see he has plenty to say when ever I get mentioned.
