Yeah , I think that's what I might buy . Now . Trying to find one in decent condition (apart from the one that's listed at £240 :shock: ) . That's the trick .

I had one as my first radio.

I found it dire mostly, the Transmit audio was good (so I am told) but any station stronger than about S9 on any of the 40 channels would make the radio go almost completely deaf.

And I had to line the inside of the covers with foil to stop it picking up noise from my TV and other things.

And don't get me started on the side mounted Din socket. {bnghd}

The 4E was a much much better set.

There is no such thing as a Fidelity 1000 which is too good to scrap.

There was a decent-looking Yorkie on the "For Sale" board recently Sammy. The price was maybe a bit high but it might be worth a PM ;)

The Rotel 240 tend to age better in heavy use than the Yorks binatones and Harriers .

Not 27/81 but the Colt 510 will give low miid and high AM FM and with a simple 10kc added will switch to UK offset but only 26 uk channels ;
Ugly but more power the Colt 444 will do the same with more output power . I like my Colt 510 but it takes a little time to get used to the FM white noise sounding like AM white noise .
