CRT SS9900 Feedback Issue?

Hi folks,

I recently purchased a CRT SS9900. The radio is performing very well with excellent reports. However I have noticed that the radio has an intermittant feedback "squeal" for a second or so when the squelch is set at 2 oclock or higher with the microphone plugged in at the moment the radio switched on. If the mike is disconnected the squeal does not occur.

Is this a known fault that is common to all of them or should I take it up with the seller? Anyone have any suggestions as to what is causing this issue?

I've never had an issue like that with mine. I've had mine for over 2 years now.
I'm sure others will chime in.

Well, you've isolated the issue to your mic, boom, change it.
